New and exciting shows come to Live Arts Little Theatre

The year, for the most part, has started with a bang and there is no doubt that 2016 will be a big one.

Make sure that you make time for friends and family in a place that understands that the soul needs food too.

Come and satisfy the need for laughter and be dazzled by world-class performers in one of the most intimate theatres in South Africa – Live Arts Little Theatre (LALT).

* The Queen of Comedy, Irit Noble, brings Stand Up Comedy in all its diva-licious glory to LALT, on February 20.

The award winning Irit’s mix of song, stand-up and stylish glamour makes her the only female singing emcee-entertainer in South Africa to offer a uniquely funny, classy, musical act.

Her sass, style and sultry singing voice make for a unique performance you don’t want to miss.

* LALT is proud to announce the hosting of its very first international show.

Ceri Dupree, a multi-award winning, world famous, UK-based comedy female impersonator comes to LALT on February 23 and 24, to share the personas of iconic entertainers, including the likes of Marlene Dietrich, Cher, Tina Turner, Amy Winehouse and numerous other delicious divas, who make up this phenomenal and hilarious theatrical whirlwind.

Proudly brought to you by VRG Theatrical.

* Kafka die Aap and Godfrey Johnson live in Cabaret is heading to LALT for two nights, on February 26 and 27.

The first show, Kafka die Aap, played by Cape Town-based actress Clarissa Roodt and directed by Jan Burger, is based on the English A report to an Academy, by Franz Kafka.

It investigates the story about a chimpanzee who forces herself to ”become” human in order to survive.

Not only does she manage to learn tricks for the entertainment of human beings, but in a period of five years she learns the language of the people and develops her IQ equal to that of an average South African.

Godfrey Johnson, an award winning performer, is no stranger to LALT and his live cabaret will follow shortly after the first show.

Godfrey has performed across the world, and brings along songs from the heart, inspiring ballads and a humorous take on Cabaret in a way only a seasoned performer can.
