Another dancing Rose heads to Croatia

Kayleigh Rose (15) will be part of Team South Africa, who will represent the country at the Dance Star Finals (World Dance Masters) in Porec, Croatia, next year.

The Centre Stage Dance Studios member booked her spot for Croatia following her impressive achievements at the annual Dance Star Competition, in September, when she qualified in both the contemporary lyric solo and open solo sections.

Kayleigh, the elder sister of Keano, also competed in the same annual Dancer of the Year competition in which her brother participated at Carnival City, in early September, finishing second in the freestyle section.

She’s a member of the South African Dance Teachers Association (SADTA) and the South African Body of Dance (SABOD).

Both bodies have competitions throughout the year for all registered dancers.

Dancers compete in beginners, novice, intermediate and championship levels and, once they reach championship level, they can qualify to represent the country in competitions abroad.

Rose is currently on intermediate level for slow dance and championship level for freestyle.

She started dancing competitively in May 2013 and competes in four sections, namely, slow dance, freestyle, disco and hip-hop.

Her results from throughout the year are:

Second place in Dancer of the Year at Carnival City 2015 for freestyle

Third place in The Pretoria Festival 2015 for slow dance

Fourth place in The Pretoria Festival 2015 for freestyle

Sixth place in The Pretoria Festival 2015 for hip-hop solo

First place in The Sun City Battle of the Giants 2015 for disco

Third place in The Sun City Battle of the Giants 2015 for freestyle

Second place in The Sun City Battle of the Giants 2015 for slow dance

Third place in Dance to be Wild 2015 for disco

Second place in Dance to be Wild 2015 in slow dance

First place in Disco Rama 2015 for slow dance

Second place in Disco Rama 2015 for freestyle
