Put your freak on for the Winter Fair

There’s no excuse for enduring a boring school holiday this winter, because Emperors Palace will host the wonderfully bizarre Winter Freak Fair from July 10 to 19, in the D’oreale Grande events area.

This unique event will intrigue young and old with a combination of thrills, chills and a healthy dose of the macabre.

This unusual family day out kicks-off with a gut-wrenching tour along a tunnel of darkness, where unsuspecting visitors will meet caged freaks created by Dr Abberation.

These freaks include Fifi the headless lady, Hans the midget prince, Miss Lucy Moore the fat lady, Fortuna and her crystal ball and many more eccentricities of humanity.

At the end of the tunnel, visitors will enter the Theatre of Horror, where the doctor will create a real live freak.

With a collection of grotesque illusions, Dr Abberation will perform eye-popping illusions that are designed to make hearts race and palms sweat.

As if the show itself doesn’t create enough of an adrenalin surge, visitors can then head outside to test their mettle on a selection of bloodcurdling funfair rides.

High speeds, sharp turns and dizzying heights challenge even the toughest of stomachs.

After the daredevils have conquered the rides, delicious carnival-style street food will be on offer.

Gates will open at 3pm, from Monday to Friday, with shows at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm.

On Saturday, the gates will open at 1pm, with shows at 2pm, 4pm and 6pm.

And, on Sunday, the gates will open at 11am, with shows at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.
