Treat yourself to Academy’s performance of movie songs

C Sharp Music Academy will be hosting its 15th annual concert featuring its students at The Barnyard Theatre, Emperors Palace, on Saturday, November 1.

This year’s theme is ‘Songs from movies’.

C Sharp Music Academy is a singing school in Benoni for children of school-going age.

The academy will be hosting two shows on Saturday in order to accommodate its growing audience. The first show starts at 10am and the second at 2pm.

Most of the children have movements choreographed for them on their songs and the majority of the students will enjoy support from back-up dancers (from Dynamic Dance Studio in Rynfield).

Those students also go for a few dance classes to practice with the dancers.

“My aim with this concert is to give my students the opportunity to showcase what they learn over the years of attending C Sharp and to perform on a proper stage with all the trimmings that the professionals enjoy – such as dancers, costumes, professional lighting, sound and DVD recording,” says Lizette de Klerk from the academy.

“The Barnyard is a fantastic and intimate venue and besides giving the children that amazing opportunity to perform on a proper stage, it also creates a very relaxed atmosphere for the audience.”

Every year the academy invites a few children’s homes to attend the morning show.

Members of the public wanting to attend one of the shows may contact De Klerk on 083 289 7484.

Tickets are R80 per person. – @IschkeBoksburg
