Let the rock battle begin between the sexes!
The challenge is on as male rock stars take on the divas in a rock and roll showdown.
Until the 1990s, few women claimed the rock and roll stage and only a handful of rock divas, such as Cyndi Lauper, Janet Jackson, Shania Twain and Cher, took to the stage.
Watch these divas take on the likes of rock band Def Leppard and superstars Prince and Billy Ocean and more, to fight to win over audiences and critics.
The Battle of the Sexes, to be held at the Barnyard Theatre from September 2 to October 12, covers the ultimate wedding sequence, where the girls are Going to the Chapel to feel like a Natural Woman.
For the guys she simply Drives me Crazy, and when things go wrong we encounter a Chain of Fools where the girls demand some Respect.
In the work place it’s just another Manic Monday, where the girls are working Nine to Five for their male bosses, who are happy to be Hip to be Square.
In the ultimate icon challenge we see Annie Lennox, Madonna and Tina Turner making a stand against the likes of Elton John, Bon Jovi and Freddie Mercury, followed by more recent icons such as Lady Gaga, Pink and Katy Perry, taking on Bruno Mars and Robin Thicke.
Battle of the Sexes features an 11-piece cast of singers, musicians and dancers who perform a fun, slick and energetic show.
Nobody will ever win the battle of the sexes, but for music lovers this is a celebration of musical icons who have made their mark on our lives with their music and songs.
