Thor strikes with lightning again

When I was a little girl, I used to dream of all the mythological characters I used to read about in my countless books on the topic.

DVD: Thor – The Dark World

Rating: This film series blows my mind – and I might be a little biased “wink, wink”.

Thor is the hammer-wielding god associated with thunder, lightning, storms, oak trees, strength, the protection of mankind, and also hallowing, healing and fertility.

And, of course, I dreamed about the mighty Thor, and how he looked and the great things he did.

However, in 2011, I was first introduced to Thor as film-makers would represent him to the world in Marvel’s Thor and, thereafter, The Avengers.

Of course the legend has been exaggerated, but boy, was I impressed!

He was impressive and quite hunky – okay, very hunky. This film inflated my taste for superhero films all the more. I couldn’t wait for Thor – The Dark World.

When it hit the screens, I was the first one in the cinema, and nope, I wasn’t disappointed.

The mighty Thor struck gold, and with his golden girl at his side. When I walked out, I had a warm feeling in my heart and a vision of Thor and I living happily ever after.

Of course I really wished the romance storyline was a bit stronger, but it didn’t leave me wanting, with loads of action and comedy to keep me entertained.

The film goes like this: Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, continues the big screen adventures of Thor as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from an enemy that predates the universe itself.

In the aftermath of Thor and The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness.

Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with his golden girl, Jane Foster, and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

When Jane Foster is possessed by a great power, Thor must protect her from a new threat of old times: the Dark Elves. – @BoksburgNews.
