Simple Minds coming to Carnival

Fans of Scottish rock band Simple Minds are in for a treat when the popular group perform two shows in the Carnival City Big Top Arena, on Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2.

Since the band was first formed in 1977, frontman Jim Kerr and fellow band members Charlie Burchill, Mel Gaynor, Andy Gillespie and Ged Grimes have committed themselves to making music that is as relevant and loved today as it was 36 years ago.

Simple Minds have topped the charts for decades, with songs such as the 1985 hit Don’t You (Forget About Me) from the film, The Breakfast Club, to the album Graffiti Soul, which rose to the UK Top 10 spot in 2009.

Simple Minds will perform all their greatest hits from all their albums, such as Belfast Child and Mandela Day.

The band headlined the Nelson Mandela An International Tribute for a Free South Africa event, at Britain’s Wembley Stadium, in 1990, alongside Peter Gabriel, Tracey Chapman and Hugh Masekela, with Nelson Mandela in attendance.

The group are currently on a world tour, packed with more than 80 concerts.

From South Africa they will travel to Holland.
