SA’s leading youth radio station, 5FM, is back with another super smooth, power-punching, thought-provoking and jaw-dropping edition of the 5 School Poetry Slam.
5 Breakfast is on the hunt for the next generation of wordsmiths to step up to the mic and completely blow people’s minds with spoken art that commands attention, brings insight, entertains and elicits positive change.
The competition is open to all high school students across the country. All that you need to do to enter is to fill out the form on the 5FM App and include a short video to showcase your poetic super powers. The entries close on 15 May 2024.
The Top 5 young poets who will be chosen, will get to attend and exclusive workshop – presented by world champions of the trade – and secure a coveted spot in the epic 5 School Poetry Slam, taking place on Saturday, 25 May 2024 at the SABC in Auckland Park.
5FM’s acting Business Manager, Michael Bossenger, says, “South African youth are well-known for their passion and fearlessness in speaking about things close to their hearts. True to 5FM’s core of getting SA’s brightest and best young minds heard, we’re taking that fire, giving it a proper stage and Ampli5ing it for all of South Africa to hear.”
