Help your child make a pasta flower craft

Pasta flowers are a fun spring craft suitable for all children. It's also an open-ended activity, so your child can use their imagination.

Pasta flowers are a great craft because it uses up those random boxes of noodles that are only about a tenth full – you know, the ones you save in case you need a handful of noodles.

Use this craft to teach your child about creating patterns with various shapes of noodles.

What you need

  • Different shaped pasta
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • White A4 cardboard
  • Hot glue gun or white craft glue
  • Recycled toilet paper roll

How to make it

  • Let your child paint the pasta shapes in different colours and set aside to dry. While we used Farfalle in our craft, any pasta types will do.
  • Using a glue gun or craft glue, help your child stick the pasta shapes on the top half of the cardboard paper. Remember that glue guns are hot, so be extra careful not to let your child burn themselves.
  • Unwrap a recycled toilet paper roll and use it to make a vase. Stick down firmly with glue and allow all to dry.
