How to make an easy paper frog puppet craft

Helping your child make a paper frog puppet is easy, cheap, and super fun! All you’ll need to get started is a piece of paper and some glue.

With lockdown in full swing due to Covid-19, tight budgets, and bored kids, our love for cost-effective DIY crafts has grown over recent months.

We have fallen head-over-heels for cute paper frog puppets as a great way to keep little ones occupied indoors.

This craft is great for pre-schoolers but your child may need some assistance from mom or dad to cut, but little ones as young as two years can help glue and fold the puppets.

What you will need:

  • Brightly coloured A4 paper (shades of green work well)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Stick-on googly eyes

How to make a simple frog

  1. Fold your A4 paper in half, lengthways, then in half again, and then into quarters, creating a zigzag or ‘W’ with the paper. Your basic shape is now complete.
  2. Glue the outside edges together – this will create pockets for little fingers to fit in to hold the puppet.
  3. Now simply cut out some pop-out eyes and a long tongue, and glue these on. The options are endless!
