With families across South Africa in lockdown – and kids are school holidays – now is the perfect time to make this popcorn blossom tree kid craft idea!
What you’ll need
- Popcorn
- White or brightly coloured cardboard
- Pencils, crayons
- Finger paints
- Small paint brush
- Hot glue
How to make it:
- Make a bowl of yummy popcorn and set some aside in a bowl.
- Help your child to draw or outline the basic shape of a tree on a piece of paper. It’s art, so it doesn’t have to be perfect.
- Get your tot to paint the trunk and branches of your tree (finger paints work well with toddlers while older children might prefer a paintbrush).
- Next up, grab a handful of popcorn and get creative! A simple glue stick works well to secure your popcorn to the paper.
- Try to glue the smoother, flatter side of the popcorn to the paper.
- Your blossom popcorn tree will emerge within minutes.
