BMW 3 Series gets facelifted a second time

For the second time, BMW has handed the G20-generation 3 Series a range of visual and tech updates to keep its best-selling sedan fresh.

Set to arrive in SA during the fourth quarter of 2024, the latest exterior revisions of the 3 Series are very subtle. However, a selection of new alloy wheels has been added to the options list, with the M Sport and M Individual packages each ships with redesigned double- and Y-spoke 19-inch items, respectively. Two new metallic hues — Arctic Race blue and Fire Red — have been added to the colour palette.

Interior enhancements include the addition of BMW’s latest iDrive system, replete with QuickSelect functionality. The Operating System 8.5-based setup incorporates such features as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto screen mirroring, sat-nav and Augmented View. A revised steering wheel is also present.

The engine line-up of the 3 Series has remained untouched, with the quartet of petrols and single diesel option soldiering on. The former includes the 318i (115kW/250Nm), 320i (135kW/300Nm), 330i (190kW/400Nm), and 285kW/500Nm M340i xDrive. The 320d’s oil burner churns out 140kW and 400Nm of torque.
