DFSK expands electric vehicle range in South Africa

DFSK Enviro Automotive broadens its electric vehicle (EV) offerings in South Africa with the introduction of the EC35 four-seater panel van and the EC31 one-tonne bakkie.

Since July 2022, Enviro Automotive, the official DFSK distributor, has introduced eco-friendly mobility solutions. “We identified DFSK’s EVs as highly competitive for our market,” says Gideon Wolvaardt, Enviro’s managing director. “The EC35 dominates China’s electric panel van market, showcasing their efficiency.”

The EC35 four-seater addresses customer demand for increased worker space. Enviro Automotive has also implemented a monthly rental scheme (R3.75/km) to ease the transition to electric vehicles for businesses.

Looking ahead, Enviro confirmed the launch of the larger EC75 later in 2024. This electric truck boasts a 300km+ range and has two variants: a base model and a feature-rich version with advanced driver-assistance systems.

Enviro’s commitment to sustainable transportation extends beyond commercial vehicles. They plan to introduce budget-friendly electric passenger cars like the Dayun Yuehu (compact hatchback, 330km range, under R400 000) in the final quarter of 2024.

Additionally, they aim to introduce a new electric vehicle brand, SRM, to the South African market.
