Crispy air fryer French Toast with berries and maple syrup

This recipe for air fryer French Toast sticks couldn’t be easier to make and comes together in less than 15 minutes.

Delicious for breakfast or brunch, French toast served with maple syrup and berries is a delicious way to start your day. If you’ve never made French toast in your air fryer, now’s the time to do it!

Using the air fryer means no messing around with pans and butter and delivers perfectly crisp French toast.

Ingredients

  • Brioche (but any white bread/sourdough bread will work – day-old bread is great as it absorbs more of the custard)
  • Eggs
  • Cream (heavy cream/whipping cream)
  • Salt
  • Honey

For serving: Maple syrup, icing sugar/powdered sugar and berries.

Method

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, honey and a pinch of salt.
  2. Using a sharp bread knife, slice the bread into thick fingers or slices.
  3. Place a few pieces of bread into the custard at a time and allow to soak for a few seconds.
  4. Remove the bread from the custard and place it into the air fryer basket lined with parchment paper. Spray with oil, then air fry for 4-5 minutes at 205°C, flipping over halfway through cooking, until golden brown and crisp on both sides.
  5.  Remove, then dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with maple syrup and serve.

Although best served immediately after cooking, any leftovers can be kept in the fridge in an airtight container for up to three days. Air fry for a few minutes to warm back up before serving.
