The Bloody Mary is a staple in the world of cocktails. This classic drink, often enjoyed at brunch or as a hangover remedy, combines the richness of tomato juice with the boldness of vodka and an array of spices.

Today, we’re introducing you to a spicy twist on the traditional Bloody Mary, featuring chillies for a fiery kick – perfect for those who like their drinks with a bit of heat.

Ingredients

  • 50 ml Vodka
  • 150 ml Tomato juice
  • 15 ml Lemon juice
  • 5 ml Worcestershire Sauce
  • 10 ml Hot Sauce
  • A pinch ground black pepper
  • A pinch celery salt
  • 1 small red chilli, finely chopped (adjust based on desired heat level)
  • Green olives (for garnish)
  • Celery stick (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes

Method

  1. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes and set it aside to chill.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, tomato juice, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, black pepper, and celery salt. Add the finely chopped red chilli to the mixture.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  4. Discard the ice from your chilled glass and fill it with fresh ice cubes. Strain the cocktail mixture into the glass.
  5. Garnish with a celery stick and a skewer of green olives. You can also add a slice of lemon or a sprig of fresh herbs, such as parsley or dill.
