The classic Aperol Spritz can be personalised with various additions like rosemary or elderflower syrup, adapting the cocktail to preference.

This iconic aperitif, with its bright orange hue, has transcended its Venetian origins to become a beloved staple in cocktail menus around the globe. At its core, the Aperol Spritz is a study in simplicity and balance. The cocktail hinges on two key components: Aperol, a bittersweet Italian aperitif infused with a secret blend of herbs and roots, and Prosecco, the sparkling Italian wine that lends the drink its lively effervescence.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Aperol
  • 90 ml Prosecco
  • Soda water (a splash)
  • Ice cubes: Ample
  • Orange slice (for garnish)
Method
  1. Choose a large wine glass and fill it generously with ice cubes.
  2. Measure and pour Aperol over the ice.
  3. Gently add chilled Prosecco to the mix.
  4. A dash of soda water.
  5. Complete the ensemble with a slice of fresh orange.
