Volvo reveals more about EX30 line-up before local launch

The Volvo EX30, positioned as one of South Africa's most affordable electric vehicles, offers a comprehensive range of choices.

Volvo Car SA recently shared more details about its upcoming EX30 line-up before its official launch.

Starting at R775 900, the EX30 is positioned as one of South Africa’s most affordable electric vehicles. Despite its competitive price, it doesn’t compromise on performance.

Greg Maruszewski, Volvo Car SA managing director, highlighted the line-up’s variety.

Customers can choose from different battery sizes and single- or twin-motor configurations, ensuring there’s something for everyone. This strategic approach aims to cater to a diverse range of preferences and needs in the increasingly popular electric vehicle market.

The EX30, first unveiled in Milan, Italy, shares design elements with its larger sibling, the EX90, known for its innovative features and sleek design. It features a closed shield grille, digitally-rendered Thor’s Hammer headlights, split taillights, and a familiar dashboard layout, reflecting Volvo’s commitment to cutting-edge design and technology.

The base Core trim level offers a generous set of features, including a heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, rear park assist, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Safety features include seven airbags and various driver-assistance systems, ensuring peace of mind for drivers and passengers alike.

Moving up to the Plus grade adds amenities like ambient interior lighting, wireless smartphone charging, and a premium sound system, enhancing the overall driving experience. It also upgrades to 19-inch alloy wheels, two-zone climate control, and front-and-rear park assist, providing added comfort and convenience on the road.

The flagship Ultra specification includes additional luxuries such as a fixed panoramic sunroof, power front seats, and a 360-degree parking camera. It also features advanced technology like Park Pilot Assist and a 22kW onboard charger, along with 20-inch alloy wheels, setting a new standard for excellence in the electric vehicle market.
