Crafting the ultimate kota
Did you know that the kota is named after the township slang pronunciation of the "quarter" of a loaf of white bread?
- 1 loaf white bread, unsliced
- 1 pack Eskort Rib Burgers, cooked according to pack instructions
- 1/2 pack frozen slap chips, cooked according to pack instructions
- 4 x Eskort Russians, pan fried to perfection
- 4 x Eskort Shoulder Bacon slices, pan fried
- 4 – 8 TBSP Atchar
- Eskort Creamy Mayo
- Eskort Rib Sauce
- 4 eggs, fried to your liking
Method
- Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthways and then in half again.
- Hollow out bread by cutting a square out the centre, keep this aside for toasting. (Pan fry the centre bread piece in some butter and keep to finish off your kota later)
- Mix half creamy mayo and half rib sauce to make a ‘pink sauce’ and first layer that onto the bread.
- Then add your slap chips and atchar on top.
- Next add the shoulder bacon.
- Add the rib burger and a little bit more pink sauce before adding the Russian.
- Top it off with your gooey fried egg and the kota toasted bread ‘hat’.
