Delectable upside-down apple and honey pastries

Impress your guests with these scrumptious upside-down apple and honey pastries - a combination of crispy pastry, tender apples, and honey.

If you love entertaining guests, these upside-down apple and honey pastries are a must-try, with their perfectly crisp pastry, tender apple slices, and a drizzle of sweet honey. Recipe compliments of Instant Pot South Africa.

Ingredients

  • 1 Sheet All Butter Puff Pastry, cut into 4 squares that are each 8 x 10 cm
  • 1 Apple Sliced
  • 4 Tbsp honey per square
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • To serve, sprinkling of nuts and vanilla ice cream

Method

  1. Line the removable tray from the Vortex Clearcook and make an incision along the metal handle to easily pick up. Set the Vortex air fryer to Air fry at 200ºC for 10 minutes.
  2. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of honey into four quadrants of the lined removable tray. Top each square with 7 slices of apple, overlapping slightly. Sprinkle each square with cinnamon.
  3. Place chilled puff pastry on top of the apple and egg wash the pastry lightly. Crimp the edges of the pastry with a wet fork.
  4. Place the removable tray into the Vortex Clearcook and bake for 10 minutes.
  5. Remove the pastries from the Airfryer, and serve with ice cream and a sprinkling of chopped cashew nuts.
