Action attractions at Nu Metro

Nu Metro Menlyn Park took it to the next level with Liam Neeson’s new thriller in their Xtreme cinema last weekend and, from this weekend, the US box office hit Honest Thief now starts in all Pretoria cinemas this weekend.

It’s an action attraction jam-packed with BIG screen impact.

The moving homegrown romantic drama, Toorbos (Afrikaans with English subtitles), tells the story of a young woman (Elani Dekker), who is uprooted during the time of the last forest inhabitants of South Africa’s Knysna forest of the 1930s. When she gets involved in an intimate relationship with an urban gentleman (Stiaan Smith), her forest background proves an obstacle. Karoliena is coaxed into marriage, experiences the realities of progress, the power of money, the oppression of nature, and what it will take to stay true to herself.

When a regular teenage girl swaps bodies with a serial killer, her ultimate goal becomes to get her body back! Vince Vaughn (as a towering psychopath) and Kathryn Newton (as a teen girl) star in the comedy-horror-slasher movie, Freaky. Nobody is safe in this new take on the popular body-swapping story. Get ready for some freaky, scream-out-loud movie madness.

Beloved British artist LS Lowry (Timothy Spall) lived all his life with his over-bearing mother Elizabeth (Vanessa Redgrave). Bed-ridden and bitter, Elizabeth actively tried to dissuade her bachelor son from pursuing his artistic ambitions, while never failing to voice her opinion at what a disappointment he was to her. Enjoy this highly acclaimed biopic-drama in Menlyn’s luxurious VIP cinema.
