Members of the band kept busy last year, promoting their latest album Dream Of Paralandria across the country.

Band founding member and guitarist Emile de Jong, is just as passionate about his craft, as he was when Lonely-Lonely became a tremendous hit in 2004, helping to launch the band to greater recognition and popularity.

“With the changes in the music industry, one positive is that you can now get your music out into the world faster than ever before. In the past, it took time and money to get your CD in the music store. Now we launch a new single today and tomorrow it’s available on the entire planet,” he said.

“One big challenge is that there are a lot more artists with their music out there, making it hard for new bands and artists. You have to really work hard to get your music heard above all the others.”

“First, you have to believe in what you do as an artist and all band members have to be on the same page,” he said.

“Second, I think we’ve to be like brothers. We can get pretty worked up with one another as any music group would, but we leave all that in the rehearsal room. Once we walk out we’re a family,” he said.

De Jong is extremely proud of being part of The Narrow.

“The fact that our music can mean so much to many people through the years, that is what makes it all worthwhile. People tell us that our music carries them through difficult times,” he said.
