Sbu speaks about his arrest

DJ Sbu said he feels bad for getting himself arrested but also felt bad when the media didn't mention that he donated millions to a charity event that he attended.

DJ Sbu spoke about his arrest at the Tshwane Music Festival on Wednesday as he was one of the guest speakers of the day.

Sibusiso Leope, known as DJ Sbu, said he was on his way from ‘changing lives of the people’ when he was stopped and arrested for drunk driving.

Sbu was arrested in the early hours of Saturday for drunk driving and he shared his experience with the audience. “I do admit that I make mistakes but I learn a lot from my mistakes. On Saturday I was arrested, but nobody mentioned where I was from before I was stopped. In fact, I came from donating money to a charity organisation. My aim is to make a difference and I do a lot for the community. Sibusiso Leope Education Foundation is such an example,” he said.

Leope did not elaborate on whether he was indeed drunk when he got arrested but said he did have a drink at the event he attended before he left.

The 37-year-old was recently fired from Metro FM for promoting his energy drink Mofaya at the Metro FM Music Awards.
