Some hidden talent in Centurion finally shows face!

A talented young singer from Centurion is dreaming big.

A young candidate lawyer from Eldoraigne, Centurion, is set to take the South African music industry by storm.

Reinier Joubert, a 21-year-old law student has an immense passion for singing. He explains that his relationship with singing started at the age of 13 when he won the national Primary School’s Idols competition, presented by Dros.

“I always knew I had a great interest in singing and making music, but I only had enough courage to perform solo in front of people in primary school,” Joubert said.

Joubert spoke about his mother and the rest of his family as being his biggest supporters.

“My mom was my manager for quite some time, she arranged all my performances, my two sisters and grandparents also supported me all the way.”

Joubert also forms part of a duo group called Royal City, with his brother-in-law, Damian Bothma. They plan to stay together for a while until they achieve their goals in the music industry.

Joubert describes his own personal goals as being on stage as part of the Huisgenoot Skouspel performers or Afrikaans is Groot and also opening his own law firm to which he can contribute half his time and still generate an income from practicing law.

When asked what his biggest piece of advice is for young people trying to make it in the industry, he said: “No one should ever make you believe that you cannot pursue two interests. Do the best you can and work hard. Of course success and good results would not just fall out of the sky, but if you work extra hard at achieving what you believed in, you would get to that point quicker than expected.”

Joubert concluded by saying: “I work hard to get a healthy amount of exposure, but be careful not to become a charitable act.”

Joubert and his brother-in-law (Royal City) will be performing at the NG Church Hartbeesspruit’s Queenswood bazaar. He also performs at the Speak Easy Lounge (at the Stone Cradle restaurant) every second Wednesday.
