JazzUP brings people together
Musicians and artist gathered at the University of Pretoria for the JazzUP.
The University of Pretoria hosted the JazzUP Tshwane festival teaser on Thursday evening, to give potential sponsors a taste of what was coming next year.
Vusi Mahlasela, The Moss Mogale Unit – CAFCA Music School in Mamelodi and Tshwane School of Music in Eersterust performed, and works by South African painter, poet and pianist, Charles Sekano, and university students was also exhibited.
The bigger festival is expected in October next year, will give a new generation of jazz artists a platform to show their talent and catapult jazz to the top of the national arts and culture agenda, organisers hope.
Jessica Landzaad, reading for her BMus degree in Jazz at the university, said she was very excited to attend.
