Rain and safety concerns lead to postponement of The Festival @ St Dunstan’s

The rain came down so the dancing shoes, unfortunately, had to come off for The Festival @ St Dunstan’s on May 13.

However, on a brighter note, there is now more time to buy tickets as Benoni’s biggest party will still take place this Saturday, May 20.

According to event organiser Paul Smith the decision to postpone The Festival was made in conjunction with the event’s health and safety officer and with the best interest and safety of visitors in mind.

“Our health and safety officer advised that safety risks were too high, due to the adverse weather,” said Smith.

Nonetheless, on May 20 all the good vibes will go ahead as planned with Crystal Park, Chunda Munki, Euphonik, DJ Voltrex, Kahn Morbee, TiMO ODV and Locnville there to entertain the crowds.

Rubber Duc will, unfortunately, not perform at the event.

Keep an eye on The Festival @ St Dunstan’s Facebook Page for the performance line-up.

Tickets for the event are still on sale at St Dunstan’s College, 54 Millburn Street, the Benoni City Times offices, in Northmead Square, corner 14th Avenue and O’Reilly Merry Street, Mugg and Bean, at The Square at Farrarmere, and Wakaberry, in the Oakfields Shopping Centre.

All tickets sold for the event which was postponed are valid on May 20.

General access tickets cost R150 if pre-bought and R200 at the gate on the day.

Pre-bought backstage VIP tickets are R400 and R500 on the day.

Pre-paid parking tickets are sold out.

Gates open at 1pm.
