Upcoming Vosloorus resident Sean Trimz is back with a new single

After the moderate success of his previously independently promoted single Thang for ya, Sean Trimz from Vosloorus is back with a new single, titled Eastside.

Released on March 3, the track is produced by Pijoline Beats, a talented and versatile producer from the East Rand, and features sisters Naledi and Masego, who are collectively known as Miss Charlie.

“I feel like this is something that the entire East Rand will appreciate because I am from the east and I am embracing the coast,” he said.

“Finally the ones who are outside the east will stop overlooking us, because talent from the East Rand is rising rapidly, from DJs to models to actors and actresses.”

Trimz has been recording music since 2011, when he was 18. He has been releasing his music under his own recording company, Certified Clique Music, since his first professional single, My Turn, in 2015.

It was playlisted all over campus radio, as well as a few commercial radio stations.

On October 3, 2015, the music video for the track was shot in his ‘hood’ in Vosloorus, Zompie Section.

The low-budget video was only available on YouTube.

His second single, Thang for ya, was released on March 25 last year. He defines this song as “the joint that put him on the map”.

“Everyone who received that song was very positive about it and felt like it’s a song that can be embraced worldwide,” Trimz said.

Trimz didn’t waste time. He shot the music video 23 days later, so that he could focus on building himself as an artist, the Certified Clique Music as a brand and the song for the winter, because he felt like Thang for ya is the one for the winter.

With the help of DJ Chronic, Sibusiso Ndulula and Kofi ‘Yhinks’, the music video turned out to be a success and boasts nothing but quality.

The video was featured on MTV Base’s Hate or Rate, a competition that ran a month long, where viewers had to rate the music videos of up-and-coming artists.

It also went on to be featured on Trace Africa’s Bout to Blow, a segment for artists who they believe are about to take over.

Trimz is orchestrating the Eastside radio tour, to promote the single through radio stations in the various provinces.

Born Dumisani Mlaudza on May 30, 1993, Trimz is an advertising graduate from Boston Media House.

Even though he is not pursuing the career of his qualification, he does emphasise that education is helping him a lot to get through.
