Caras’ house music touches base on different genres

Producing music started as a hobby for Ndumiso Nhlapo and Thabiso Popela, until they realised they had talent which needed to blossom.

The duo carried on with their music passion until two more members, Busisiwe Hlophe (vocalist) and Paballo Motingwe (drummer), added new flavour to the group and ”Caras” was born.

The youthful and energetic Caras, a Portuguese name meaning Faces, signed under Jus Nativ Records and have already gained popularity in the music industry.

Caras’s genre of music is house, infused with soul, Afro soul and Afro jazz.

According to the Vosloorus-based group, what sets them apart is that they touch base on different genres, to accommodate all age groups and races.

Live performances by Caras include piano, vocals and a DJ, all on one stage.

They use the platform to encourage or advise people about love and issues affecting the community.

They are currently distributing an EP, to which the community is responding well.

“We just love our work and we appreciate all those who have supported us on our journey,” Nhlapo said.

The advice they would like to share with the youth is to never give up on their dreams and to surround themselves with people who have goals and ambitions in life.

You can network with them on Facebook: Caras SA.
