WIN! Prepare to crack up with world famous comedian Russell Peters

Comedy fans can prepare to crack up with unbridled laughter when Canadian funnyman Russell Peters unleashes his unique, globally-renowned brand of stand-up on Gauteng audiences.

He is in South Africa as part of his Almost Famous World Tour and will take to the stage in the Big Top Arena, Carnival City, on February 5 and 6.

A sought-after comedian internationally, Peters has set records for sales and attendance at his shows around the world.

In 2007, he was the first comedian to sell-out Toronto’s Air Canada Centre; in 2009 he set another sales record at London’s 02 Arena, when he sold over 16 000 tickets to his show and, in 2010, he performed for an audience of over 13 800 in Sydney, Australia, which was the largest stand-up comedy show in Australian history.

His 2012 Notorious World Tour is also one of the biggest comedy tours ever.

The tour took Peters to 26 countries and over 200 performances, with more than 300 000 fans attending his shows globally.

The Almost Famous World Tour – presented in South Africa by MNet – features all new material and is laced with lightning-fast improv with the audience.

The show will also feature Russell’s Official Tour DJs; Toronto’s DJ Starting from Scratch and New York City’s DJ Spinbad, as well as video cameras and screens for an up-close and intimate show in an arena setting.

This tour will mark Peters’ sixth performance at the Air Canada Centre, a feat no other comedian has achieved.

In addition to South Africa, the Almost Famous World Tour will take Peters to New York’s Madison Square Gardens, as well as Los Angeles’s Nokia Theatre in November and December.

In February and March, Peters will take the tour to Australia and New Zealand, with more international dates to be announced.

He can currently be seen as a judge on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, alongside Roseanne Barr and Keenen Ivory Wayans.

Peters can also be seen in Jon Favreau’s critically acclaimed movie, Chef.

Listed on the Forbes List as one of the top 10 highest earning comics in the US since 2009, Peters has spent the past 25 years building a career to become one of the biggest comics in the world.

Peters has also performed for the troops in Afghanistan, Iraq and on the USS Eisenhower and HMCS Winnipeg, and appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Lopez Tonight, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and on HBO, CNN, MTV, BBC and Al Jazeera.
