It’s not inside – it is on the plot!

The third installment of Cars on the Plot, just outside Mbombela, attracted some 89 car enthusiasts.

The car sound competition, in particular, was well supported. As per usual, Golfs, BMWs and Beetles – the people’s favourite and one of the most iconic cars of all time – was well represented.

May the VW force be with you …

Justice Bam brought his wicked Nissan 1400 for some airtime, and another car that drew my attention on arrival was a Roadster belonging to Gert Conradie. Watch this space for a profile on Gert and his interest in performance cars.

The judges at the sound testing station did not flinch…

Another absolute beaut was a 1998 VW VR 6 belonging to Tyron Naidoo. “The engine is pretty standard still, and yes, she is quite thirsty when it comes to fuel consumption,” said Naidoo. He also has, I believe, some other interesting cars and has agreed to open the garage for me – so watch this space!

If you are a petrol head who loves under-tree family picnics – good sound – inclusive of some vroom-vroom, then Cars on the plot may well be right up your alley – so don’t miss the next one! Results: Sound competition: 1: Brandon Payne 2: Tyrone Sivnath 3: Wayde Winkle. Show and shine: 1: Justus Bam 2: Preshan Pillay 3: Yaaser Khan. Best bakkie: Justice Bam.
