New DP is fired up for success

Danie Hefer is the new dealer principal at Motus (previously called Imperial) Toyota in Mbombela.

He was initially appointed the DP for Hino Nelspruit but then, soon after starting, he was asked and agreed to head up Motus Hino / Motus Toyota and Lexus Nelspruit.

Danie grew up in the Honeydew/Boskop area in Johannesburg where his family farmed with Proteas.
After finishing school he studied marketing, completed his military training and then worked for Volkskas Industrial Bank bank specializing in Asset Base Finance.

In 1994 he started the Bankfin Asset Financing division in Nelspruit.

In 1998 he was promoted to ABSA HQ to head up its Joint Venture and Alliance division.

Then came a stint with his own company until Imperial invited him to start a similar venture within Imperial. This went well, but other opportunities within the company presented itself and he soon found himself in a top position within Imperial’s trucking and commercial environment.

“After ten years I decided to take a sabbatical. The game industry, in which I had numerous investments, beckoned. I love nature and the game industry but in March 2020, I was offered a return position within the Imperial group Mbombela, and well, here I am – energized and ready to make things happen. And this dealership has done extremely well – with new, pre-owned and in the workshop since March despite the COVID-19 challenges. This team does not shy away from challenges and we have adapted to, for this moment, a somewhat upside down world.”

“I am a serving dealer principal,” said Danie. “It is my intention do everything required to make it easier for every member on my team to do what is expected from them. I walk about eight-plus kilometres daily – right here in the dealership to be and stay in touch with everyone and everything that happens within our business. The world of work has changed and innovation on all levels is a necessity beyond the norm.”

“I am grateful to work for MOTUS Toyota at dealership level – its business philosophy, ethics and quality and range of products add value to this world and its people. We need to stay humble. I love my family, nature, God, cooking, hunting and a little golf now and then. I love people”.

And by the way – the name change from Imperial Toyota to MOTUS Toyota was a pure business decision within the Imperial Group internationally.

Well dear reader, for those old enough to remember one of this country’s biggest storytellers, Jan Spies, I am sure that Danie’s pure plaas calmness, big picture vision (and a serious eye for detail) and, a new found energy for business, will generate many wonderful experiences and growth for MOTUS Hino, Toyota, Automark and Lexus, its customers and the community.
