MALALANE – Motorists are advised to be vigilant when they go to shopping centres for remote-jamming syndicates operating in the parking areas. This comes after a number of individuals reported their belongings missing from their vehicles, with no sign of forceful entry. According to a reliable source the syndicates spend the entire day at the shopping centres pretending to be regular customers with the intention of jamming other shoppers’ vehicles as they park. “Spotting them is very difficult because these guys are clean and do not look suspicious at all. They will go and buy lunch and drinks in the store just like everyone else, all the while targeting someone or following the victim whose vehicle they are robbing. They follow them as a security measure,” explained Corridor Gazette’s source. There has not been any arrests by the police as of yet. However, they are following positive leads. Meanwhile, motorists are advised not to leave valuables in easily accessible locations and also to ensure that their doors are locked when walking away from their vehicles.
