Human remains found on the side of road in KZN

Human remains were found in Amouti this morning, with authorities investigating possible links to a previous discovery.

Human body parts were discovered by pedestrians on the roadside in Amouti, KZN, this morning.

Prem Balram, the spokesperson for Reaction Unit South Africa, says a member of the public contacted them at around 07:00 after they made the discovery.

“Reaction officers responded to the call for assistance and on arrival located [the human remains] on a grass verge next to the main road,” he adds.

He says the remains were partially covered with a cream-coloured blanket and pink bed sheets.

“The remains were in a state of decomposition. A closer examination revealed that the spine had been removed from the torso,” he explains.

Balram says it could not be confirmed if the human remains were linked to the head and legs that were discovered in a pile of rubbish in Amouti, KZN on Friday.
