Elderly couple shot while changing tyre on N1
The motive behind the shooting of two people on a highway north of Pretoria is yet to be determined.
An elderly couple was hospitalised after a shooting on the N1 last night when they were on their way home from Pretoria.
According to reports, the couple, who live outside Modimolle, were on their way home when they had to stop on the N1, near the Carousel Toll Plaza, to change a tyre.
While changing the tyre, they were both shot.
Julius Weideman of Jumas Security says the motive for the shooting has not been established.
“If possible, avoid travelling on the N1 north after dark,” he says.
The Polokwane Review-Observer is awaiting confirmation of the shooting and more information from police.
No further information was available at the time of publishing.
