Watch: Vereeniging business owner kidnapped

The video shows how kidnappers drag the owner of Mimosa Sweets to a waiting car.

The kidnapping of a Vereeniging business owner yesterday morning was caught on camera.

A video circulating on social media shows how Ifraan Dadabhay, owner of Mimosa Sweets, is dragged by his arms and legs to a car waiting in front of the business.

Moments before, three men jumped out of the vehicle leaving the doors ajar. They stormed into the business and returned with Dadabhay shortly after.

Vaalweekblad earlier reported that shots were fired during the incident and one person was injured in the leg.

A red Hyundai SUV, which is suspected to have been used in the kidnapping, was later found in Phumasbethane Informal Settlement (commonly known as Phuma’s) near Sharpville.

Sedibeng Ster reported residents witnessed a man taken out of the SUV and being forced into a Toyota Quantum.

Police spokesperson, Constable Busisiwe Sango confirmed the discovery of the vehicle, which had blood stains inside.

Police are still searching for Dadabhay and his kidnappers.
