Man kidnapped, robbed: Wanted woman expected in Bloemfontein court

A woman who was wanted in connection with kidnapping, robbery, and extortion is set to appear in court.

Mamokete Jeminah Koloti, a former wanted suspect, will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court tomorrow. The 49-year-old woman was arrested at her hiding place in Loerierpark, in connection with kidnapping, robbery, and extortion.

According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thabo Covane, a task team led by Captain David Ramasoala and Captain Kelaotswe Lebodi arrested Koloti in the early hours of yesterday.

“A warrant of arrest was issued for the female, who was on the run after a case of kidnapping and robbery was opened at the Kagisanong Police Station,” he says.

Koloti allegedly kidnapped and robbed a 50-year-old male victim on June 20, and took him to an unknown location in Bloemspruit Phase 6, where they extorted money from his accounts.

The district commissioner of the Mangaung metro, Major-General Arthur Peter Adams, advised members of the public not to publicise financial gains, such as pension payouts, Road Accident Fund claims, or lottery wins, as criminals might target them.
