Dada Morero elected as the new mayor of Johannesburg

Dada Morero from the ANC is returning to serve as the executive mayor of the City of Johannesburg once more.

Dada Morero was elected as the new executive mayor for the City of Johannesburg at the 30th extraordinary meeting yesterday.

This follows Al Jama-ah‘s Kabelo Gwamanda’s resignation on August 13.

Morero was elected and sworn in at the Constance Bapela Council Chamber, Metropolitan Centre in Braamfontein.

Morero is the City’s Finance MMC and is also the Johannesburg ANC regional chairperson. In 2022 he was elected as mayor but only served 25 days before he was removed.
