Watch: Tatjana Smith bags SA’s first gold at Paris 2024 Olympics
South Africa's first gold medal at this year's Olympic Games in France has been won thanks to the sensational swimmer.
Tatjana Smith (formerly Schoenmaker) has done it! The South African bagged the gold medal in the women’s 100m breaststroke as she beat Tang Qianting from China and Mona McSharry from Ireland.
The 27-year-old from Johannesburg is the current Olympic record holder in the event, with a time of 1:04.82 that she swam in Tokyo in 2021.
