Manager of Tintswalo Safari Lodge shot, fighting for her life

A manager of a luxury lodge in Limpopo was shot four times, allegedly by a disgruntled former employee.

Emily Leuner, manager of the luxury Tintswalo Safari Lodge in Manyeleti Game Reserve outside Hoedspruit in Limpopo, is currently fighting for her life after she was shot four times.

According to a source, Leuner survived the shooting and was taken to the Tintswalo Hospital in Acornhoek. She is currently being transferred to the Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg.

The shooting was confirmed by the Tintswalo Collection Group. They said Leuner was shot, allegedly by a disgruntled employee, who was dismissed earlier after a disciplinary hearing.

He returned to the lodge and allegedly shot the manager and thereafter shot himself. He did not survive.

Leuner and her husband, Alistair, were appointed manager couple at Tintswalo Safari Lodge in 2017.

They are well-known in the safari industry and used to work at Sabi Sabi.

Tintswalo has asked for the family’s privacy to be respected. This is a developing breaking news story.
