E-hailing driver found dead in car in Pretoria North

A man identified as the ‘Bolt driver of Soshanguve’ has been murdered.

Police are investigating the murder and kidnapping of an e-hailing driver who was found dead in his car in Soshanguve Ext 5 in Pretoria North on Tuesday afternoon.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan van Dyk says police received a call about a dead body inside a car next to Kopanong clinic.

When officers arrived on the scene they found a white Toyota Corolla Quest with one of its back doors wide open.

The deceased was lying unconscious in the back seat of the car, with a gunshot wound in the left side of his chest, says Van Dyk.

Gauteng Emergency Services certified the victim dead on the scene.

“He was identified as the Bolt driver of Soshanguve,” says Van Dyk.

“Police have opened a case of murder and kidnapping,” he adds.

No arrests have been made.
