The Grove Mall Carnival is an event not to be missed

"A carnival would only compliment all the entertainment the mall provides to its shoppers."

This summer, we all want to get out a bit – and who can blame us after being home for most of the past year?

The much-anticipated The Grove mall carnival is set to open on Friday, September 17 at 15:00. Entrance is free and you pay per ride.

The great thing about the carnival is that there are rides for both young and old.

The Grove mall carnival is an event not to be missed out on.

The marketing manager of The Grove mall, Chris Hutchings, said the mall already has a mix of entertainment ranging from an indoor games arcade, a Ster-Kinekor cinema and an ice rink.

“A carnival will only compliment all the entertainment the mall provides to its shoppers.

“We pride ourselves on being a family destination and thought what better way to bring families back together,” he said.

The carnival would be set up alongside the mall at entrance 3.

“Members of the public have been calling in and sending us messages on social media since the carnival began setting up. We have surprised them every week as new rides keep arriving,” Hutchings said.

Carnival-goers can look forward to rides such as the wave rider, bumper cars, virtual simulators, the sky rider and the fun house and, of course, what is a carnival without a proper carousel?

Some of your Grove mall favourites such as RoCoMamas and Sausage Saloon – to name but a few – will also be at the carnival. The Grove mall restaurants are all ready to welcome festival-goers once the kids are hungry after enjoying the rides.

The number of entries is limited as per current restrictions for outdoor events. Upon arrival and before every ride, sanitising is compulsory. Sanitiser stations will be available throughout the carnival grounds.

“The rides will be cleaned regularly and masks are mandatory. Independent Covid-19 compliance officers will be present at the event to ensure guidelines are being followed,” he said.

The carnival will be open until January 9, 2022.

It will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, public holidays and December school holidays.
