Irene Village Mall Carnival is fun for the whole family

The roadshow caters for children, teenagers and adults, says Irene Village mall marketing manager.

The Irene Village Mall Carnival Roadshow still attracts hundreds of people wanting to break away for a bit of fun. The gaming show started on 19 March, and is scheduled to end on 30 May. “This is a show for the entire family,” Irene Village mall marketing manager, Lollie van Niekerk, told Rekord. “It is suitable for children, teenagers and adults.” Van Niekerk said children may enjoy, among other things, various rides and especially the merry-go-round. The event also has rides for adults, young and old, including skyrider, crazy wave, pumper cars and flight simulator. In addition, the show provides business opportunities for small businesses to make their mark through selling their products and services. People can buy many types of craft products and food from the stalls, she said. “Our restaurants and all the other stores in the shopping centre are also open. “Often families would go for a ride and have family meal at one of our restaurants or do shopping.” The show opens on 3pm on a Friday then on a Saturday and Sunday at 10am respectively. It will open from 10am every day during school holidays. This is also the case on public holidays until the end of May. “The event runs until late in the evening.” Van Niekerk said although the event is popular, they were strict with the Covid-19 regulations, which include encouraging people to keep social distancing, wearing of marks and washing or sanitising of hands. “We make sure we do not exceed the maximum capacity of 250 people at a time.” She said they maintained the maximum number of people allowed inside the event venue under a controlled constant flow of people going in and out.
