It was a day well spent at the Harvest Festival on Saturday where thousands of people were treated to good wine, food and music.
The fourth annual Harvest Festival, ‘dubbed the biggest wine tasting festival in Gauteng’, took place at the Leriba Hotel in Centurion.
The two-day wine extravaganza attracted over 100 wine farms, said Leriba owner Peet du Preez
“The turn out is great and people are enjoying the occasion. The number of people today is around 2 560 and tomorrow we are expecting roughly around 2 000 more,” he said.
Du Preez said one of the main goals for the festival was to generate funds.
“We are generating funds for SANParks, Honorary Game Rangers and Endangered Wildlife Trust. We have also done a lot of charity work with Centurion hospice and Feed a Child.”
“We are also keen in developing young talent, so today and tomorrow, we will continue to do that,” he said.
The event also is not just about getting people together but promoting an anti rhino-poaching campaign in the country.
