What you need to know about the royal wedding

Be excited, be very excited. This is what lies ahead on royal wedding d-day.

The day is finally here. The day that the world has been waiting for, the day that Prince Harry, the infamous royal wildcard, handsome bachelor and humanitarian, will take the plunge and marry beautiful Hollywood darling, Miss Meghan Markle.

19 May 2018 will be an historic day. Not only will Prince Harry, who is currently sixth in line to the crown, get married, but he will be sealing the deal with the first woman of colour ever to have married into the British royal monarchy.

Meghan Markle is not only a colour of colour, she is a talented Hollywood actress, a big star on the small screen, a voice for various charities and humanitarian groups. Her marriage to Prince Harry will also be her second marriage, something the Church of England hierarchy would not have condoned a few years ago.

Harry and Markle’s ceremony on Saturday will be the first full-blown royal wedding of a divorced partner to take place with the loving embrace of the traditional English church.

If, like most of us in the Rekord editorial department, you have planned your entire Saturday around this exciting, historic event, please feel free to read up on a few facts about this wonderful day, and the two lovebirds involved.
