Groenkloof Nature Reserve
If you’d like to break away from the big city life, Groenkloof Nature Reserve might just be the place for you. The reserve is located near Fountains Valley in the southern outskirts of Pretoria.
The reserve is home to a wide variety of wildlife including zebra, jackal, duiker, kudu, impala, blue wildebeest, blesbuck, red hartebeest, ostrich, giraffe and sable. Bird lovers will also be kept busy for hours on end. Visitors can look forward to activities such as hiking, horse riding and mountain biking.

Kolonnade Centre Mall is one of the most exciting malls in Pretoria. The 10-pin bowling provides a wide range of entertainment for young and old people to enjoy. It only costs R48 per person.
The National Botanical Gardens
This stunning urban oasis is a pristine getaway situated in the eastern suburbs Pretoria.
It offers various fun-filled options like picnics, music shows on a regular basis, tuck shops and even a newly renovated restaurant that looks out to a serene dam.

Market @ the Sheds
Visit this social market celebrating good vibes with tunes, people and sassy food like tacos from a Kombi.
It’s organised by the Capital Collective with the aim of rejuvenating Pretoria’s inner city and making it a space where everyone feels welcome.
The market is held on the last Saturday of the month from 09:00 to 16:00.

Rugby fans will be familiar with the stadium, but for those who need to experience the Loftus crowd can purchase tickets for only R40 for Curry Cup games.
The iconic Supersport Park
If you like cricket, you can bring more fun with you by paying for two friends to watch with and it will still cost you less than R200 (tickets are R60 per person). The stadium has a picnic section for families to relax on the grass and have a braai.
Soccer match at Lucas Moripe Stadium
Soccer lovers can spoil themselves during PSL matches, Lucas Moripe stadium is the home of both Mamelodi Sundowns and Supersport United. PSL tickets only cost R40 per person and snacks and drinks are also sold at a reasonable price.

The National Zoological Gardens is situated in the city central.
It has 3 117 specimens of 209 mammal species, 1 358 specimens of 202 bird species, 3 871 specimens of 190 fish species, 388 specimens of 4 invertebrate species, 309 specimens of 93 reptile species, and 44 specimens of 7 amphibian species.
It is the largest zoo in the country and the only zoo with a national status.
