Stars of the Ballet Moscow is coming to Pretoria in October. Do not miss this captivating performance.

Stars of the Ballet Moscow return for a two-day show on 3 and 4 October at the South African State Theatre.

The dance troupe from Moscow has toured South Africa every two years since its first visit in 2011.

Stars of the Ballet Moscow showcased young artists from various ballet houses of Moscow, who share a respect for the tradition in which the idea of culture predominates.

The Stars of the Ballet Moscow started off with 10 members led by the famous master of the Bolshoi Theatre, Shamil Yagudin and has since toured the US, France, Canada, Greece, Malaysia and Turkey to wide acclaim since 1990.

The Moscow ballet stars company follows the traditions and aesthetic principles that come from the art of the great ballet masters of the 19th century such as Filippo Taglioni, Jules Perrot, August Burnonville and Marius Petipa and fuses it with the creativity of the Russian masters such as Alex Gorsky, Mikhail Fokin, Kasyan Goleizovsky, Yuri Grigorovich.

In one of the acts of its programme, Stars of the Ballet Moscow pays tribute to one of its greatest ballerinas, Natalia Bessmertnova, who was the wife the celebrated Grigorovich.

The cast will perform scenes from timeless classics such as Spartacus, Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty, Raymonda and The Nutcracker.

There will be two matinees at 15:00 and an evening performance at 19:30.
