EG Jansen learner has a keen interest in music

Jared Venter hopes to dazzle judges at the International Arts Talent Showcase in September.

Boksburg North-based aspiring musician Jared Venter is gearing for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at the International Arts Talent Showcase taking place in September at the Silverstar Casino in Krugersdorp.

The 15-year-old who received a call back from the organisers of the showcase said he is hoping to impress judges so that he can proceed to perform in America and show off his talent among other musical heavyweights.

Jared, who sings country and pop music, said his musical journey began four years ago when he became part of a school choir.

“I fell in love with music ever since because it is one space that I can express myself and tell my story. I recently signed up with an agency to help and nurture me as an artist and an actor.”

The Grade 10 Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen learner, who is also part of C Sharp Music Academy, has performed at various theatres, including the Barnyard Theatre at Emperors Palace.

“Since I started taking my craft seriously, I have received enormous support from my family and friends who have held my hand throughout. I have also developed a strong fan base,” said Jared.
