The 10th Ekurhuleni Carnival brightens up the streets

The 10th Annual Ekurhuleni Carnival took place on Saturday, December 6, at Tsakane and Kwa-Thema.

The main objective of the carnival is to support entrepreneurs in the art industry, says metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe.

The carnival kicked off at Langaville Secondary School, in Tsakane, and ended on a high note at Bulithando Park, in KwaThema.

Various artists took turns on stage to entertain the audience with more song and dance.

“The carnival is a brilliant platform to get exposure as an artist, as well as an opportunity to make money, as we make a living through the arts,” says performing artist, Ignition TLK.

“The reason why Ekurhuleni continues to support the carnival is solely because we view it as an investment in what could be someone’s career tomorrow,” said MMC for Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Clr Zeni Tshongweni. – @NalediBoksburg
