Lighting up the sky for a festive December

Every December a spellbinding Garden of Lights is displayed at Emperors Palace, lighting up the sky with a colourful array of light.

This year, once again, they will not disappoint, and they will treat visitors to a fun night until January 4.

The beautiful array of lights boasts since 2007 more than 800 000 visitors and over 200 character lights and 100’s of kilometres of lighting.

The themes of this year’s Garden of Lights will be Happyland, which is a funfair filled with rotating cars, the epic Tilt-a-Whirl, the one of a kind Rotor and Jump and Smile.

A Ferris wheel at the entrance of the garden provides the most incredible views of the Garden of Lights and younger guests will be entertained on the Runaway Train, Boat Ride and Cartoon Cars at the Freeway Fantasy area.

The whole family can take a stroll through the beautifully decorated garden of the D’oreale Grande hotel, while the little ones meet Santa, his helpers and other festive characters along the way.

Be a good Samaritan and bring sunshine into the lives of those less fortunate, while you celebrate going into the new year, by donating toys for Reach for a Dream and ‘back to school’ goodies for a local Ekurhuleni charity.

The Garden of the Lights, a massive annual holiday event, will take place from 7pm till 10pm in the gardens at the D’oreale Grande hotel, weather permitting.

In the event of cloudy and rainy weather, please contact 011 928 1000 to enquire if the Garden of Lights will be open.
