Mpumalanga health MEC visits Rob Ferreira Hospital

MEC Sasekani Manzini paid a visit to Rob Ferreira. She interacted with patients and checked the hospital's health services as part of dealing with backlogs.

The provincial MEC for health, Sasekani Manzini, conducted an oversight visit to Rob Ferreira Hospital on August 14.

The aim was to monitor the provision of healthcare services. She spoke to patients regarding the services offered to them.

This visit comes after Manzini recently held a conference at Nutting House Lodge to monitor and check on surgeons and staff members who were part of the orthopaedic marathon.

Rob Ferreira was one of the five major provincial hospitals that took part in helping to reduce the backlog of patients who were awaiting surgery.
During the marathon, it was found that the hospital had a backlog of 65 patients when its target was 35. However, 75 patients were operated on with the support from a Mapulaneng Hospital team in Bushbuckridge.
