SA-bound new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 breaks cover
Locally, Toyota will offer the Land Cruiser 300 in three trim levels; GX-R, ZX that replaces the VX-R and off-road biased GR Sport.
The brand new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 has been long coming, however, Toyota has finally taken the wraps off its new Land Cruiser 300 as a successor to the 200-series.
The new Land Cruiser 300 is equipped with a rectangular theme, stylised light guides, large horizontal slats that can be finished in either black or chrome accents depending on the trim chosen.
There are U-shaped front radiator openings as well as trapezoidal LED rear lights.
Powering the new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 are two all-new engine options in the form of a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine sourced from the Lexus LS500 and a 3.3-litre turbocharged diesel mill.
The V6 petrol unit makes 305 kW and 650 Nm while the V6 turbodiesel churns out 227 kW and 700 Nm. The latter gets an increase of 32 kW and 50 Nm compared to the 4.5-litre V8 engine.
Both engines are coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission with obligatory low range. Locally, Toyota will offer the Land Cruiser 300 in three trim levels; GX-R, ZX that replaces the VX-R and off-road biased GR Sport.
Each variant will feature a bespoke specification line-up, in accordance with usage and customer requirements.
The local introduction is set for August 2021. Detailed specification, pricing and model line-up will be issued at launch timing.
